Kids Sportswear For UK Schools And Junior Sections, Sized By Age And Height.
In the UK, children's clothing is usually bought by age band and height, from a school PE kit list to a junior football section. That makes the sizing conversation different from the letter-based youth sizes used elsewhere: a parent looks for a label that says the age of their child and expects it to fit. We make children's sportswear in-house in Sialkot, with no minimum on a sample and 20 pieces per design for bulk, so a school or a junior section can order without taking on a large risk.
Three Kinds Of Buyer, Three Different Briefs.
School PE Kit
A kit list that parents follow, in school colours and with the school crest. Orders cover several year groups at once, and the same design is reordered each year. A clear size-by-age-and-height table helps parents choose correctly.
Junior Club Sections
Squads split by age group within one club, each with its own size range and numbers. A growth spurt mid-season is common, so a spare set in the next size up is a sensible line on the order.
Children's Activewear Brands
A small label selling to parents online needs consistent sizing across seasons and a garment that survives frequent washing. Start from a tech pack and a sample. See UK private label.
Making A Size Label Mean Something.
Grading is the process of scaling a pattern across a range of sizes. For children it needs special care, because proportions change with age: legs and arms grow faster than the torso, and shoulders and chest do not scale evenly. We grade the pattern for children's proportions, and check it on the sample.
A growth allowance is a small extra margin in length or width that lets a garment last longer. It is a design choice, not a standard, and it depends on the sport. A hooded top can have more room than a close-fitting match shirt.
Our sizing and grading guide and youth versus adult sizing guide go deeper, and the size guide lists the charts we use.
Sizing Brief Checklist
- The age or height bands you will print on labels.
- Chest, waist and height for a typical child in each.
- Whether garments are for one season or several.
- How many of each band, to plan the size split.
- A spare set for pupils who grow during the term.
Practical Options To Discuss With Us.
Rules for children's clothing differ by market and garment type. We cannot give compliance advice, so you confirm what applies to your product. These are design options we can build on request.
No Drawstrings
Hooded tops and joggers can be made without drawstrings, or with a flat fixed alternative and an elasticated waist. It is a design choice and not a certificate.
Comfort Details
Printed or soft labels, flat seams and fabric that stretches easily make kit more pleasant to wear, which matters when a child is deciding whether to wear it at all.

Common Questions.
Can you size garments by age and height, the way UK shops do?
Yes. Tell us your age labels and the matching height and chest measurements, and we grade the pattern to them. Age labels differ between brands, so agree the measurements for each label rather than relying on the age alone.
How much growth allowance should a school kit have?
There is no single answer. A little extra length and room helps a garment last a season, but too much restricts movement and looks untidy. Test the sample on two children of the same age but different build, and decide from that.
Can you make hoodies and joggers without drawstrings?
Yes. We can leave off drawstrings or use flat, fixed alternatives. Children's clothing has safety requirements that differ by market, and we cannot give compliance advice. You confirm the rules for the UK with your own adviser and tell us the design you want.
Do you hold safety certifications for children's clothing?
We do not claim any. We make to the design and specification you approve. If your school, retailer or market needs testing or paperwork, arrange it separately and ask us at quote stage what we can supply to support it.
What about customs and VAT?
Check your local import requirements. We prepare the commercial invoice and packing list for every shipment, quote shipping per order and provide tracking.
How do we pay?
By bank transfer or Wise, against an official quotation or invoice. We do not take card payments. You can check our business verification before you pay.
